whooo doesn't love owls?

My second graders were working on using
geometric shapes to create a recognizable image.
And who doesn't love a good owl project?

So, we decided to do a cut-paper collage - this would show off our geometric shape cutting skills, and creativity in "building" an owl. We started off with one large geometric shape for the body. Then students could use the scrap boxes as needed to cut out any shapes they wanted for the parts of their owls. We had a slideshow of owls playing on the SMARTBoard during class for inspiration.

I loved the final artworks in this project! They have such personality. :)
