Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of the finished projects before
they were sent off to a community display, but I couldn't resist posting
these pictures of the second graders sewing!
Every year the second graders are invited to make an ornament to decorate
their very own tree at the Historical Society Festival of Trees.
This year the theme revolved around music, so we used scrapbook
paper and sheet music to create 3D shape ornaments. They were so cute!
And the best part...
the kiddos' excitement when they got to use a sewing machine to complete their project!
They were shocked at the idea of being able to use a "real"
sewing machine, and they did a wonderful job!
