Second graders have started out their year
learning about warm and cool colors...
so we started this weaving project with painting!
One paper was painted with warm colors and one with cool colors.
We tried to focus on blending the colors as we painted
across the paper so there were no hard lines between each.
After using rulers, permanent markers, and scissors to cut out
the warp and weft pieces, the fun part began!
We read "Weaving the Rainbow" by George Ella Lyon
and then glued down the long strips for the warp.
We then used the shorter strips for our weft....
some second graders were surprised at their weaving skills - they were amazing!
Great job, Second Graders!
Have you ever woven anything?
